Garden Giants

Summer surprised us with a watermelon baby. Pear-shaped and heavy, this was the baby watermelon I'd started as a seedling in my apartment last spring.

Since I'd never eat it fast enough, I chopped and froze cubes of seeded watermelon for future use in smoothies and margaritas.

Summer also granted us the biggest zucchini I've ever seen, from the garden of my roommate's parents.  That's a regular 15 oz. can beside it for comparison. It's a monster.

    1. You're most welcome! I can never eat it all before it starts to go, so the freezer it is!
